It’s Fat Tuesday at Ragin’ Cajun, and we’re celebrating the way we always do: loud, full of flavor, and proudly Cajun.
Come to our Fat Tuesday Celebration 2026 and enjoy Mardi Gras with live zydeco music, fresh crawfish, cold drinks, and a dance floor where everyone’s welcome.
The Party Starts at 6 PM
On Fat Tuesday, both Ragin’ Cajun locations will be full of Mardi Gras spirit from 6 to 10 PM, with live zydeco music that will get you dancing even if you didn’t plan to.
The Original on Richmond – Live music by L.T. & The Zydeco Mob
Spring Branch on Wirt Road – Live music by B. Cole & The Zydeco Bulls
Two locations. Two bands. One big Cajun celebration.
We are talking real Louisiana rhythm. Accordion pumping. Washboard clanking. Feet stomping. The kind of music that makes strangers high-five and friends attempt dance moves they invented five minutes ago.
Crawfish Is in Season, and It Is Stealing the Show
Now, let’s discuss the true VIP of the Fat Tuesday Celebration 2026. Crawfish season is officially here. And if there was ever a perfect pairing, it is Mardi Gras and crawfish. Nothing says Fat Tuesday like a table piled high with steaming, seasoned crawfish. It is hands-on. It is messy. It is absolutely necessary.
Pinch. Peel. Repeat.
That is not just dinner. That is tradition. Add bowls of gumbo, rich étouffée, stacked po’boys, jambalaya, and all your Cajun favorites, and suddenly your Tuesday feels legendary.
Cold beer. Festive cocktails.
Dance floor-ready vibes are guaranteed.
Grab Your Krewe and Come Hungry
Fat Tuesday is not meant to be celebrated alone. It is a group activity.
So grab your krewe. Bring your appetite. Wear your purple, green, and gold. Come ready to eat, dance, and celebrate like you mean it.
Whether you are at The Original rocking out with L.T. & The Zydeco Mob or at Spring Branch dancing to B. Cole & The Zydeco Bulls, you are in for a night that feels straight out of Louisiana.
The Fat Tuesday Celebration 2026 at Ragin’ Cajun is where Houston comes to let loose Cajun style.
A Quick History Lesson About Fat Tuesday
“Fat Tuesday,” or Mardi Gras, literally means “Fat Tuesday” in French. It marks the final day before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. Traditionally, Lent is a season of fasting and reflection, so naturally people decided to celebrate first.
The tradition dates back to medieval Europe and made its way to Louisiana in the early 1700s with French settlers. Over time, New Orleans turned Mardi Gras into the colorful, music-filled, food-heavy celebration we know today.
Purple stands for justice.
Green stands for faith.
Gold stands for power.
Green stands for faith.
Gold stands for power.
And crawfish stands for excellent life choices.
Houston’s Cajun Headquarters for Mardi Gras
You do not need Bourbon Street when you have Ragin’ Cajun.
For decades, we have brought Louisiana flavor and culture to Houston, and the Fat Tuesday Celebration 2026 is one of our favorite nights of the year. It is loud. It is flavorful. It is community. It is music. It is crawfish season in full swing.
It is everything Mardi Gras is supposed to be, minus the airfare.
Make Your Plans Now
Fat Tuesday only comes once a year. Live zydeco bands from 6 to 10 PM do not play quietly. Crawfish season does not last forever.
So make your plans. Text your crew. Clear your schedule. Join us at Ragin’ Cajun this Fat Tuesday for live music, great food, cold drinks, and a celebration that will have you saying, “We should do this every week.”
Because on Fat Tuesday, we do not hold back.
We celebrate.
